| Support services If the e-learning is just a component of the course and students are on-site much of the time, they will probably access support services when they're on-site. But if the course is mostly online, you will need to consider how students can access all the support services they may need. Some services may be available online: for example, the libary catalogue may be accessible via a web browser over the Internet. Other services may not be easily available online: for example, a student counselling service or learning support. But creating links to external sources of information can be very helpful for students: for example, many institutions have online resources on study skills which are available for anyone to access. Remember too that learning online requires different skills from learning in face to face setting. You might consider providing students with links to sites such as: What Makes a Successful Online Student? (Illinois Online Network)
